Though tea was not originally served as a cold beverage, iced tea has become a favorite drink around the world. It comes in many different flavors (lemon and peach are among the most common) and is enjoyed with a variety of sweeteners, fruit garnishes, or plain.

Tropicana Iced Tea Blend Brewing Tips:
To make the perfect tasting glass of iced tea, brew one quart of cold, filtered water for every  6 teaspoons of loose leaf tea used. Remember you need to make iced tea stronger than regular hot tea to make up for ice dilution. Once the water has come to a rolling boil, 205 degrees F -212 degrees F, pour it directly over the tea and steep for 5 minutes. Remove the tea ball or strain the loose tea out of the teapot.
 
Let the brewed tea cool down to room temperature before adding the ice. Tea should be chilled after it has cooled to help keep the brew’s appearance clear.
If your chilled glass of tea gets cloudy, you can try slicing some citrus fruit and adding it to the glass. Citrus fruit slices such as lemons, oranges, limes, and even grapefruit make a nice garnish for your iced tea. These acidic fruits will help balance the tea’s PH level and will keep your glass clear. Lower the waters brewing temperature if the tea clouds immediately after brewing.
4oz of loose leaf tea will make approximately 4 quarts of prepared tea, depending on how strong you like it.
If you like your tea stronger, add more leaves, do not steep longer. Steeping your tea too long can cause the tea to turn bitter tasting.
Do not allow your water to boil too long, water that has been over boiled will produce a flat cup of tea.
Pour the water onto the tea, do not add the tea to the water. This will prevent the leaves from steeping properly and result in a poor cup of tea.
